Project Information

The Macao Customs Pier and Channel Dredging Project is located near the Taipa Ferry Terminal Station in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

During the construction period, the project department overcame various adverse environmental impacts such as typhoons, high temperatures, and tidal changes. For key construction challenges including large-diameter ultra-long PHC pile driving, underwater continuous concrete pouring, and underwater formwork removal, specialized construction plans were formulated.

Main Work

The main works include the construction of two piers and the dredging of the channel.

The pier construction consists of a 120.5-meter northern pier and a 90.5-meter southern pier, both with a SSwidth of 7.5 meters. The total dredging volume amounts to approximately 200,000 cubic meters.

This project successfully led to the completion of two trestle bridges (north and south), dredging approximately 200,000 cubic meters of silt, and achieving "three firsts" in the Macao Special Administrative Region:

● The first successful completion of large-diameter ultra-long PHC hydraulic pipe pile construction

● The first application of rust-resistant, impermeable, micro-expansive high-performance concrete

● The first large-scale underwater cast-in-place concrete construction

Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance berthing convenience for Macao Customs vessels.
